Eliyahu M. Goldratt was an Israeli physicist, business management guru, and author who revolutionized the field of operations management. He earned his Ph.D. from Bar-Ilan University and began his career in academia before transitioning to business consulting. Goldratt is best known for developing the Theory of Constraints (TOC), a methodology for identifying and managing bottlenecks in production processes. His ground-breaking business novel "The Goal," published in 1984, introduced TOC to a wide audience and became an international bestseller, translated into over 35 languages. Goldratt founded the Avraham Y. Goldratt Institute to promote TOC worldwide and continued to refine his ideas through subsequent books like "Critical Chain" and "It's Not Luck." He was a sought-after speaker and consultant, helping organizations across various industries improve their efficiency and profitability. Goldratt's work has had a lasting impact on business management thinking, influencing fields beyond manufacturing, including project management, supply chain, and even healthcare.
