Nick Newman, M.S., is a leading authority in track and field jumps, renowned for his expertise as both a coach and author. With a master’s degree in Human Performance and Sport Psychology from California State University Fullerton and a bachelor’s in Exercise Science from Manhattan College, he has dedicated over 15 years to advancing athletic performance in the horizontal jumps. Newman has coached across top NCAA programs—including UCLA, Auburn, Tennessee, USC, and Cal-Berkeley—guiding athletes to 25 All-American honors, five individual conference titles, and two NCAA championships. His technical acumen spans biomechanics, speed development, and long-term program design, and he is certified in strength and conditioning, technical coaching, and sports performance by leading U.S. organizations.
A former top-ranked British long jumper with a personal best of 7.80m (25’7″), Newman’s journey from athlete to coach was fueled by a passion for research and a commitment to athlete development.
