He served as the pastor of Marble Collegiate Church in New York City for 52 years, growing the congregation from 600 to 5,000 members. Peale’s message of faith-based positive thinking resonated with millions, leading him to write 46 books and host a popular radio program, “The Art of Living,” for over 50 years. He co-founded the Horatio Alger Association and the American Foundation of Religion and Psychiatry, blending spirituality with mental health principles. Peale’s work earned him numerous accolades, including the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1984. Despite facing criticism from some theologians, his impact on self-help literature and popular psychology remains significant. Peale passed away in 1993 at the age of 95, leaving behind a legacy of inspiring countless individuals to harness the power of positive thinking in their lives.
