John Doerr is a renowned investor and venture capitalist, best known for his work at Kleiner Perkins and his influential book, Measure What Matters. He holds a B.S. and an M.E.E. in electrical engineering from Rice University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Doerr’s expertise in goal-setting and organizational performance is well-established through his pioneering work with Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), a system that has driven success at companies like Intel and Google.
Doerr’s career spans several decades, during which he has been a key player in the growth of Silicon Valley. He has invested in and supported numerous successful tech companies, including Amazon, Google, and Intuit. His insights into goal-setting and execution are drawn from firsthand experience with these industry giants, making his advice both practical and proven.
In addition to his professional achievements, Doerr has been a significant philanthropic figure. In 2022, he and his wife Ann donated $1.1 billion to establish the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability, underscoring his commitment to addressing global challenges like climate change.
