Kenneth G. Langone Sr. is an American billionaire businessman and co-founder of The Home Depot. Born in 1935 to working-class Italian American parents, Langone’s journey from humble beginnings to Wall Street success embodies the American Dream. He earned his MBA from NYU’s Stern School of Business while working full-time, becoming a prominent venture capitalist and investment banker. Langone’s financial acumen was instrumental in launching The Home Depot in 1978, revolutionizing the home improvement industry. A major Republican Party donor and philanthropist, he has made significant contributions to medical research and education, including a $100 million donation to make NYU School of Medicine tuition-free. Langone serves on numerous corporate and charitable boards, championing free-market principles and entrepreneurship.
