Thomas W. Phelps

Thomas William Phelps (1902-1992) was a distinguished investment professional with over 40 years of experience in the financial world. He worked as a private investor, columnist, analyst, and financial advisor, gaining deep insights into stock market dynamics. Phelps authored the influential book "100 to 1 in the Stock Market" in 1972, which advocated for a long-term, buy-and-hold investment strategy.

Throughout his career, Phelps held various positions that shaped his investment philosophy. He served as an economic advisor to Socony Mobil Oil Company and was a partner at the investment counsel firm of Scudder, Stevens & Clark. His expertise was recognized with an Outstanding Achievement award from the University of Minnesota in 1956.
