Biography

Michael Johnson is a renowned British graphic designer, brand consultant, and author. As the founder of the design studio Johnson Banks in 1992, he has created iconic brands for clients such as Virgin Atlantic, Science Museum, and The Guggenheim Foundation. Johnson's expertise in branding has earned him numerous accolades, including eight D&AD 'pencils' and the prestigious D&AD President's Award in 2017. His work has been recognized internationally, with four Art Directors Club of New York 'cube' awards and features in the Victoria and Albert Museum's permanent collection.

Johnson's passion for design extends beyond his studio work. He is a frequent lecturer on branding and design history, speaking at events worldwide. His writing contributions to design journals and judging roles in design competitions further cement his status as an industry leader. Johnson has authored three influential books, including the bestseller "Branding: In Five and a Half Steps," which offers a comprehensive guide to creating successful brands.
