Frank Bettger (1888-1981) was a former professional baseball player turned successful insurance salesman and motivational author. After failing as a salesman at age 29, Bettger transformed his career through developing enthusiasm and honing his sales techniques. By age 40, he had become one of America's top insurance salesmen. Bettger's bestselling book "How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling" (1947) shares the principles and methods he used to achieve remarkable success. Endorsed by Dale Carnegie, the book became a classic in the sales and self-improvement genres. Bettger went on to write other popular books on selling and gave lectures across the country, inspiring countless salespeople with his rags-to-riches story and practical advice. He credited much of his success to the power of enthusiasm and continuous self-improvement. Bettger lived to the age of 91, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most influential sales authors of the 20th century.
