Dr. Mustafa Khattab is a renowned Canadian-Egyptian Muslim scholar, author, and translator, widely recognized for his expertise in Quranic interpretation and Islamic studies. He holds a Ph.D., M.A., and B.A. with honors in Islamic Studies in English from Al-Azhar University, one of the world’s leading centers of Islamic scholarship. Dr. Khattab is the distinguished translator of The Clear Quran series, acclaimed for its clarity, accessibility, and contemporary language, making it one of the most widely circulated English translations of the Quran today.

Dr. Khattab’s journey began with memorizing the entire Quran at a young age and earning a professional ijâzah in the Ḥafṣ style of recitation. He has served as a lecturer at Al-Azhar University for over a decade, taught at Clemson University, and worked as a Muslim chaplain at Brock University and the University of Toronto Mississauga. His contributions extend beyond translation; he was part of the pioneering team that translated Ramadan night prayers live from Mecca and Medina, and he has authored works for children and contributed to academic encyclopedias.

Currently, Dr. Khattab serves as the resident scholar at Al-Furqaan Foundation, where he continues to promote accessible Quranic education across North America. He is a member of the Canadian Council of Imams and a Fulbright Interfaith Scholar. Residing in Canada, Dr. Khattab is also known for his engaging lectures, interfaith initiatives, and dedication to fostering understanding within and beyond the Muslim community. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his family and mentoring youth.
