Don Norman is a renowned cognitive scientist, designer, and author best known for his seminal work "The Design of Everyday Things." He holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and has had a diverse career spanning academia, industry, and consulting. Norman has been a professor at Harvard, UC San Diego, Northwestern, and KAIST, and held executive positions at Apple and HP. He co-founded the Nielsen Norman Group and directed the Design Lab at UC San Diego. Norman's expertise in human-centered design, usability engineering, and cognitive science has earned him numerous accolades, including membership in the National Academy of Engineering and the Franklin Institute medal for Cognitive and Computer Science. His influential books on design psychology have shaped the fields of user experience and interaction design. Currently, Norman continues to advise companies, speak at conferences, and advocate for sustainable, humanity-centered design. He resides in California and, at 88, remains actively engaged in design discourse and education.
