Jesse Livermore was a legendary stock trader and financial pioneer in the early 20th century. Known as the "Boy Plunger," he began his career at age 14 as a board boy at Paine Webber in Boston. Livermore gained fame for his remarkable ability to read market patterns and his daring trades, including successful short positions before the 1907 and 1929 market crashes. His trading strategies, focusing on price action and market behavior, revolutionized stock market speculation. Livermore's tumultuous life was marked by spectacular successes and devastating losses, having made and lost several fortunes throughout his career. His insights and experiences formed the basis of "How to Trade in Stocks," published in 1940, which continues to influence traders today. Despite his financial genius, Livermore's life was plagued by personal tragedies, leading to his untimely death in 1940 in New York City.
